Course Penalties

An unfortunate part of an RD's job is having to enforce the rules and distribute penalties. Everyone here wants to see all the teams do their best, but when a rule is broken, the penalties must be enforced. As of now, the following teams have had penalties added to their times:

- Secret Squirrel: Punched the wrong CP during the Radiation Burn challenge, missing the actual CP intended. Penalty: + 4 hours for incorrect CP
- ROAM/INOV-8: minus emergency flare/emergency strobe at mandatory gear check. Penalty: + 4 hours for missing mandatory gear, + 2 hours for violation of safety requirement (travelling without emergency equipment)

Both teams have chosen to continue the race and finish. We will be monitoring these penalities in real time on the Leaderboard by recording their actual times at each TA/CP as their time into that CP and the time with the penalty added on as their time out.
